Débora Torrealba

Assistant Professor at the Institute of Engineering Sciences, University of O’Higgins. I am Associate Editor of the Latin American Journal of Aquatic Research (LAJAR). Founder of Nanoprot SpA, a biotech start-up specialized in the development of therapeutic treatments based on recombinant proteins for veterinary applications.

Postdoctoral Fellowship (2017-2019) on animal health at the University of Alberta, Canada. Ph.D. in Aquaculture (2016) (University of Barcelona), Master in Aquaculture (2012) (Autonomous University of Barcelona, University of Barcelona and Polytechnical University of Cataluña), Spain. Biologist (2009) (Pontifical Catholic University of Valparaíso), Chile.

My research interests focus on the study of pathogen-host interaction from an immunological approach, with special interest in the coinfection phenomenon and the development of new prophylactic methods based on recombinant proteins such as immunostimulants and vaccines for use in aquaculture.
